
CHICAGO, IL (July 26, 2007) – American Science and Technology (AST) and
Chicago State University (CSU) will host the 2007 CAET Alternative Energy
Symposium in Chicago, August 9th and 10th. To kick off the event, the keynote
speaker will be the Chairman and CEO of ComEd, Frank Clark, who will be
discussing his company's efforts to develop new energy sources.
The Center for Alternative Energy Technology (CAET) is a joint initiative between
Chicago-based AST and CSU, and is an effort to help the U.S. achieve energy
independence. The conference aims to provide an effective and established forum
for the dissemination and discussion of ideas and information regarding recent
advances in alternative energy technology.
Leading scientists and engineers from around the world, including China, India,
France, Canada, the U.K., as well as the U.S. will be attending the symposium to
take part in technical sessions and panel discussions focusing on the research
and development of processes and materials for cost effective, real world energy
production from alternative sources.
The areas of focus will include:
- Fuel Cell Technology Hydrogen Generation, Separation, and Storage
- Solar Cell Technology
- Natural Energy Wind Systems
- Biofuel Technology
- Urban Solid Waste as a Potential Energy Source
